We understand the importance of flexibility.  If you need to amend or cancel your tour for any reason,  we will always accommodate you, at no charge up until 24 hours prior to travel.

If you need to cancel on the day of travel, or miss your tour pickup, a cancellation fee of 25% will apply.

  2. Down Under Tours (‘DUT’) accepts no responsibility for passengers or their property failing to be at designated points at designated times or for any loss or damage arising out of such failure.
  3. Allow a 15 minute window from advised pick-up time.
  4. DUT reserves the right to change the tour route according to road conditions and may alter or omit advised stopping places.
  5. Tour picks up from select locations.
  6. Children’s ages 4-14 inclusive. Minimum age 4 years to join tour.
  7. Tours do not operate on Christmas Day.
  8. A 25% fee applies for any cancellations on day of travel, or for passengers who fail to appear on day of departure.
  9. If you cancel your reservation more than 24 hours prior to departure, a refund may be due. If you are eligible for a refund, it will be processed within 3 business days of cancellation. Merchant fees are non-refundable.
  10. Merchant fees apply on all credit card payments. Payment is to be made prior to travel and we accept Visa, Master Card & Amex.
  11. All prices are subject to change. Price changes may occur because of matters outside our control which increase the cost of the product or service. Such factors include, but are not limited to, supplier costs, fuel increases, taxes, and levies. In the case of a price increase, we will provide a minimum of 14 days’ notice.
  1. This tour operates on the Bloomfield Track an unsealed road that may be adversely affected by weather and road conditions.

  4. Cancellations within 7 days of departure – 50% non-refundable
  5. The operator reserves the right to cancel any tour, change vehicle type, alter the itinerary, or arrange an alternative operator if necessary
  6. All tours are subject to weather conditions
  7. If the Bloomfield track is closed or safety considerations arise, an alternative route via the mulligan highway will be taken –  no refund will be given in these circumstances or in the event of any delay curtailment or alteration of a trip resulting from any cause including adverse weather conditions or mechanical failure
  8. The operator cannot guarantee pick up or drop off times and are not liable for passenger failure to connect with other services
  9. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard our clients and their belongings, we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss due to events which are beyond our control
  10. Travel insurance is not included but highly recommended.
  11. Fuel charges and taxes included (GST included)
  12. Tours operate with a driver-guide.
  13. The operator accepts no responsibility for passengers failing to be at their designated points at designated times

  11. Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is subject to extreme weather conditions resulting in non-operation. You will be advised on the day of alternative arrangements that will be available to you.
  12. Cancellation fee applies on all Gold Class bookings amended or cancelled on day of departure.
  13. Merchant fees apply on all credit card payments. Payment is to be made prior to travel and we accept Visa, Master Card & Amex.

GENERAL CANCELLATIONS & AMENDMENTS:

  • Coach booking cancellations after 15:00 the day prior incur a 100% cancellation fee
  • Fail to load groups incur a 100% cancellation fee
  • Group bookings that include entrance fees/meals booked on your behalf cancelled within 72 hours of departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee
  • Any amendment requests by Tour Leaders/Guides that alters either the time or kilometres that were pre-booked, and will therefore change the pre-booked price, must be approved in writing by an authorised person

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

  • DUT reserves the right to upgrade groups into a larger vehicle size
  • DUT reserves the right to cross-hire transfer & charters to reputable coach companies during busy periods to meet industry demand
  • Rates do not include entrance fees
  • Luggage: Our vehicles allow for 1 piece of luggage and 1 piece of hand luggage per person. Additional charges apply if passenger luggage exceeds this
  • All prices are subject to change. Price changes may occur because of matters outside our control which increase the cost of the product or service. Such factors include, but are not limited to, supplier costs, fuel increases, taxes and levies. In the case of a price increase, we will provide a minimum of 14 days’ notice.

CRUISE SHIP CANCELLATIONS & AMENDMENTS:

  • Coach booking cancellations after 15:00 the day prior incur a 100% cancellation fee
  • Group bookings that include entrance fees/meals booked on your behalf cancelled within 72 hours of departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee
  • Emergency bookings generated from changes to ship schedule must be made by 08:00 the day prior and coaches are subject to availability. While we will do our best, DUT cannot guarantee to supply the full quantity of vehicles requested for this service

AIRPORT ARRIVALS:

  • Cairns Airport charge access fees for all operators. We have 20 minutes to enter the loading area, greet passengers onto the coach, load luggage and depart the Airport. Coach & driver will remain in the Airport holding bay until an elected Tour Leader has assembled passengers, with their luggage, and is ready for loading. At this time, we request that the Tour Leader phone our Operations team on (07) 4047 9002 who will then instruct our driver to enter the arrivals loading area. For all groups requiring the driver to meet the group in the arrivals hall, additional 30 minutes  will need to be booked, (using DM&G30)
  • Our Office hours are 6am-5pm daily. If your group is arriving outside of these hours, our driver will wait until 20 minutes after the flight has landed, then make their way to the arrivals loading area. The emergency number for any after-hours transfers is 0459 126 645

TRAILERS:

  • No additional charge applies if luggage trailer is required

FOOD, DRINKS & ALCOHOL:

  • No food or drink to be consumed on any coach other than bottled water or drinks with screw top lids. No hot beverages allowed
  • Alcohol is strictly prohibited onboard all Down Under Tours coaches. DUT reserves the right, under legislation, to refuse to carry intoxicated or disorderly passengers
  • CLEANING FEE: A $350 cleaning fee will apply should the coach’s interior require professional cleaning due to passengers being sick on board. Replacement vehicle (after sick passenger) is subject to availability. If a replacement vehicle is required, the full charge applies for the original coach plus the replacement coach

GUIDE POLICY:

  • If a guide pick-up is required, and the coach has to make a deviation or special journey to do so, an additional charge will apply (POA). All guide pick-up requests are subject to operational constraints.
  • Subject to approval, an accompanying guide can travel FOC once group members exceed 15 passengers. 48 hours notice is required for FOC guides.

NEW ACCOUNTS:

  • All new accounts require full, cleared payment prior to travel for a 6 month period before an application for credit will be issued

COACH PLACEMENT:

  • If you require coaches to be in place 15 minutes prior to departure instead of the standard 10 minutes, there will be an additional charge.
  • If you require coaches to be in place 30 minutes prior to departure instead of the standard 10 minutes, there will be an additional charge.

Lost Property

Although Down Under Tours endeavours to ensure that all passenger’s belongings are secure throughout the tour/charter and that all belongings are collected on disembarkment, Down Under Tours and its employees shall not be responsible for lost property. If an item is left on our vehicle, there are two options to ensure its return:
  1. Guests can make their own way to our Depot at 26 Redden Street, Portsmith, between the hours of 6am and 5pm daily to collect their item, or
  2. If guests are unable to collect the item themselves, they can contact a courier service (we suggest Pack & Send) to collect the item from our premises and deliver to their nominated address.

Our complaint escalation process

We value your satisfaction and aim to address any concerns promptly and efficiently.  Should you have a complaint, please contact us at guestrelations@downundertours.com

Where possible, we will attempt to resolve your complaint at the first point of contact. If we are unable to resolve your complaint at the first point of contact, we will undertake an investigation of your complaint and provide you with our findings.

If you are not satisfied with our proposed decision or actions, we will record this, and provide you with information on how to escalate your complaint, to the Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) for external review under their Australian Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS).  ATAS is an industry accreditation scheme that sets the benchmark of quality for the travel industry. ATAS is also responsible for monitoring our compliance with the ATAS Code of Conduct (the Code) and assisting in the resolution of complaints.

The Code sets the standards of good practice that ATAS participants must follow when dealing with their customers. As an ATAS participant we have agreed to be bound by the Code. If you would like to know more about the Code you can visit the ATAS website www.atas.com.au
