We operate a range of tours designed to cater to both the very young and the young at heart from wildlife interactions to train rides!
Travelling with infants and young kids can be challenging but we have put together our most frequently asked questions from parents and caregivers to help you plan your family escape to the tropics!
Do I need to pay for a seat for my infant (0-3 years) ?
Infants and babies aged under 3 years travel free with us at Down Under Tours, but are required to travel with an infant ticket. Please advise our reservations team if you require an infant ticket to be added to your booking.
Do I need to bring a child or infant car seat?
Queensland Law does not require babies and children to use child restraints on our coaches. All our coaches are fitted with seatbelts and depending on age , children can either have their own seat or sit on a parent or care givers lap.
Can I bring a pram or stroller ?
Small collapsible prams and folding strollers can be accommodated.

Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures
Take a half day tour to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures – the best place to see crocodiles in Tropical North Queensland! There is ample time to explore this wonderful park, including the Wetlands Cruise through the Melaleuca wetlands, domain of the saltwater crocodile. Take in the Crocodile Attack Show, and fascinating Snake Show.

After boarding Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for your journey to Kuranda, be amazed as you travel over and through World Heritage rainforest, enjoying two stops along the way. The Kuranda Boarding Pass offers discounted entry into selected Kuranda attractions as well as a detailed map to help you explore this quaint village. Your pre allocated preferential seating enables you to avoid the lines, before boarding the Kuranda Scenic Rail for this historic journey.

Australian Armour & Artillery Museum, Skyrail & Scenic Rail Tour
Explore the Southern hemisphere’s largest collection of armoured vehicle’s. The museum boasts over 190 armoured vehicles and artillery pieces dating from the 1800’s to present day. Then glide over and through the lush rainforest to Kuranda on board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Enjoy wandering through the Village and Kuranda Markets before boarding the Scenic Rail. Wind your way down the mountain through hand hewn tunnels and over bridges spanning deep rainforest gorges.

Kuranda, Scenic Rail, Skyrail & Hartley’s Crocodiles
On this fun filled day tour you can take in the magnificent views aboard the Kuranda Scenic Rail then soar above the rainforest canopy on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Our coach will then transfer you to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures – the best place to see crocodiles in TNQ! At Hartley’s you’ll explore the Melaleuca Wetlands on a 25 minute boat cruise, marvel at the death roll of a Saltwater Crocodile and explore the wildlife park home to Koala’s, Wallabies and Queensland’s Southern Cassowaries.

Board the amphibious Army Duck and also enjoy the Wildlife Park. Transfer back to Kuranda, then it’s time to board Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for your return journey.

Next explore Aboriginal culture and try your hand at throwing a boomerang! before enjoying a performance by the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers. A BBQ lunch is included as well, then it’s time to board Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for your return journey.
