General FAQ’s

Day Tours

How much does a tour cost?

Our day tours start from around $100 for an adult to visit the Australian Armour & Artillery Museum on a half day tour. See our tour page here for specific prices or call our reservations team on +61 7 4047 9066

How long are your tours?

Are meals provided on the tour?

Our guided tours to Cape Tribulation, Daintree & Mossman Gorge, Waterfall, Wetlands & Skyrail, Daintree Dreaming and Cooktown all include some meals, visit our Guided Tours page here for further details of what’s included.

Our self-guided Kuranda tours include time to source lunch at your own cost and arrangements from the many cafes, pubs and restaurants in Kuranda Village.

Will I get picked up from my hotel?

We pick up from select locations in Cairns, Palm Cove & Trinity Beach and Port Douglas.  You can also join our tours from Skyrail’s Smithfield Terminal. See here for detailed information including pickup locations.

I can’t find my accommodation on the list when trying to book?

If you cannot find your accommodation, please select unknown accommodation and then contact our reservations team for assistance.

If my Tour is cancelled, will I get a refund?

 If your tour is cancelled due to not meeting minimum passenger numbers or a weather event you will be entitled to a full refund. 

Do tours operate all year round?

Yes, most of our tours operate all year round the only exception is Cooktown which operates in our dry season from May to November.  You might like to visit When the best time is to visit our blog post Cairns & Tropical North Queensland for details on what to expect during our seasons. 

Do you cater to Dietary Requirements?

Our Cape Tribulation, Daintree & Mossman Gorge, Waterfall, Wetlands & Skyrail, Daintree Dreaming and Cooktown guided tours all include some meals, and we ensure to cater for Vegetarians, Vegans, Pescatarians, Gluten Free, Nut Free and Dairy Free.  Please contact us for specific information or to discuss your dietary requirements. 

Are your day tours suitable for children?

Yes, we offer a range of tours that are suited towards families travelling with young children – please see here.

Do we need to bring a child seat for my infant?

No, as per Queensland Law, babies and children are not required to use child restraints on our coaches.  All our coaches are fitted with seatbelts and depending on age children can either have their own seat or sit on a parent or caregiver’s lap. 

What should I bring on tour?

To ensure you enjoy your day exploring Tropical North Queensland we recommend wearing comfortable clothes and walking shoes and bringing sunscreen, insect repellent and a water bottle.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that travel plans sometimes change, to enable you to book with confidence we can accept cancellations on most of our day tours up until 24 hours before your tour departs.  For full details of our cancellation policy please see here.

Should I reconfirm my tour prior to travel?

Yes, we recommend calling to re-confirm your tours pickup details the day prior to travel to ensure you have the most up-to-date information.  

Will I see animals in the rainforest?

The Wet Tropics Rainforests are one of the world’s most bio-diverse regions with many unique creatures such as Tree Kangaroo’s, Cassowaries and Forest Dragons.  Whilst we are sometimes lucky to spot wildlife on tour, if seeing Australian animals is your primary objective, we recommend visiting one of the region’s wildlife parks.

How much time should I spend in Kuranda?

The mountain top village of Kuranda is filled with café’s, restaurants, and several wildlife parks along with its famous market stalls where you can find locally produced art, jewellery and souvenirs or have your fortune told.  We offer a wide range of options to explore Kuranda, you can choose your Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway times to provide between one to five hours exploring the Kuranda’s village.   See here for more information on Kuranda. 

Where is the best place to experience Indigenous Culture in Cairns?

There is no better place than the rainforest to have an authentic Aboriginal experience.  See here for our favourite tours that include Aboriginal experiences. 

Is there an opportunity to swim on tour?

No, our tours do not include swimming.  We recommend cooling off in your resort’s pool or whilst snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef.  

Is there a public bus service between Cairns and Port Douglas?

No public bus service operates from Cairns to Port Douglas.  There are shuttle services that operate from Cairns Airport to Port Douglas accommodation.  Given the distance, you may find it more economical to hire a car rather than to book a taxi or Uber.

Do you cater for people who are blind or have low vision?

Certainly, we are ready to cater to individuals who are blind or have low vision. Our team is committed to offering assistance both on and off the bus, ensuring your safety and comfort throughout the tour.

Having hosted vision-impaired guests previously, we recognize the significance of providing a secure and pleasant experience. Please feel free to inform us of any assistance you may require – we’re more than willing to offer the necessary support to ensure your tour is both safe and enjoyable.

Do you cater for people who are deaf or have low hearing?

Yes, we cater to individuals who are deaf or have low hearing. Our commitment to inclusivity extends to ensuring that all passengers, regardless of hearing ability, can fully enjoy their experience onboard. To enhance accessibility, we have have invested in high quality audio systems on each coach, providing clear and crisp audio for every seat, and ensuring that everyone can engage with announcements, commentary, and other audio content throughout the journey.

Do you cater for people who have limited mobility?

Yes – some tours are more suitable than others so please get in touch with us to discuss your needs and we are more than happy to assist.

Do you cater for people who use wheelchairs or mobility scooters?

Yes, we do! We have a dedicated coach that is wheelchair friendly. Please get in touch with us to discuss your needs.

Do you cater for people with specific dietary requirements and food allergies or intolerances?

Our all-inclusive tours feature morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, with options available for various dietary preferences and restrictions. We accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, pescatarian, and vegan diets. Simply inform your guide in the morning, and we’ll ensure that your dietary needs are met with options included on the menu.

Do you cater for people with cognitive disabilities or people on the Autism Spectrum?

Yes, we accommodate individuals with cognitive disabilities or those on the Autism Spectrum. We aim to create an inclusive environment where all guests can enjoy their tour experience to the fullest. If you have specific needs or requests, please inform us, and we’ll do our best to ensure your visit is comfortable and enjoyable.

Have any of the staff undergone disability awareness training?

Certainly: At this time, our staff are in the process of undergoing disability awareness training, with sessions scheduled throughout 2024. We are committed to enhancing our understanding and abilities to better serve all our guests, including those with disabilities. Your comfort and satisfaction are important to us, and we strive to continually improve our services to meet the needs of all our customers.

What tour would be most accessible friendly?

Do you have discounts/packages for a carer?

No we do not offer discounts or packages for carers.

Do you assist individuals whose primary language is not English?

We want to ensure your visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Listed rainforests of Kuranda, Daintree & Cape Tribulation will be a memory that lasts a lifetime. Whilst our driver-guides will deliver commentary in English on your tour, we also offer supporting written and audio language guides in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Chinese. Read more information here.

Can you accommodate for assistance animals?

Yes, we can accommodate assistance animals. Please contact us to advise if you will be travelling with an assistance animal and ensure to have your Handler Identity Card on hand.
